Privacy Policy

Woody's Geekery ("we," "us," "our") is a small game and collectibles shop based in Clayton, North Carolina. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit woodysgeekery.com, shop with us online or at our pop-up events, or join our email list, and how we use and protect it. We keep it simple: we only collect what we need to run the shop, and we never sell your personal information.

1. Information we collect

When you order on our website

  • Name, email, phone number (if provided), shipping and billing address

  • What you ordered, order history, and any notes or custom-order details you send

  • Files you upload for custom or personalized items (for example, artwork or text for a card blank or engraving)

  • Payment details are entered into our payment processor's secure checkout. We do not see or store your full card number.

When you buy from us in person (pop-up events)

  • We take payments through the Wix point-of-sale app (tap to pay, card, or cash).

  • If you ask for a receipt by text or email, we collect your phone number or email address to send it. That contact may be saved in our customer records.

  • We may send a one-time email inviting you to join our updates list. You are not added to marketing emails unless you choose to join.

When you fill out a form

  • Contact form (/contact): first and last name, email, and your message.

  • Waitlist / updates form (homepage): first name, email, and anything you type in the optional text field.

  • Our forms include an email-updates checkbox, which may be checked by default. You can uncheck it before submitting, or unsubscribe at any time later.

When you browse our website

  • Our website platform (Wix) automatically collects basic technical info such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring site, using cookies and similar technologies. This helps the site work, keeps it secure, and gives us visitor statistics.

  • We use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking (through the Google Tag) to understand how visitors use our site and measure our Google ads.

  • We use the TikTok Ads pixel, an advertising tool that may collect information about your visit and actions on our site (such as viewing products or checking out) so we can measure and show ads on TikTok. See Section 4.

When you interact with embedded content

  • Some pages show content from other services, such as our Instagram feed and Google Reviews. Those services may collect information under their own privacy policies.

When you buy from us on other platforms

  • Orders through TCGplayer, TikTok Shop, or Whatnot are handled by those platforms under their own privacy policies. We receive the information needed to fill your order (such as name, shipping address, and what you bought).

2. How we use your information

  • To process, ship, and support your orders, including returns and damage claims

  • To make custom and made-to-order items

  • To send receipts, order updates, and tracking info

  • To answer your questions and messages

  • To send our email updates and newsletter, if you've opted in

  • To understand how our site is used and improve it

  • To advertise our shop, including measuring our TikTok ads

  • To prevent fraud, handle chargebacks or disputes, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements

3. Email updates and how to unsubscribe

If you join our list, we'll email you about new products, restocks, events, and shop news. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also email us and ask to be removed. Our email tool records whether emails are opened so we can see what's useful. Unsubscribing from marketing won't stop order-related messages like receipts and tracking.

4. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We use cookies and similar tools for:

  • Essential site functions: keeping your cart, checkout, security, and file uploads working

  • Analytics: Wix's built-in site statistics and Google Analytics (via the Google Tag)

  • Advertising: Google Ads conversion tracking (via the Google Tag) and the TikTok Ads pixel

5. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the shop, and only as needed:

  • Wix (website, online store, forms, point-of-sale, email marketing, and customer records)

  • Payment processors, including Wix Payments and PayPal, to process payments

  • Shipping carriers (USPS and UPS) to deliver your order

  • Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads, through the Google Tag) for site analytics and ad measurement

  • TikTok (advertising pixel) and other platforms you choose to buy through (TCGplayer, TikTok Shop, Whatnot)

We may also share information if required by law, to protect our rights or prevent fraud, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business. We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with others for their own marketing.

6. How long we keep it

  • Order, payment, and tax records: as long as needed for accounting, tax, and legal purposes (generally up to 7 years)

  • Email list info: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it

  • Form messages and receipt contacts: as long as useful to help you, then deleted or cleaned up periodically

  • Uploaded custom-order files: until your order is complete and any claim window has passed, unless you ask us to keep them for repeat orders

7. How we protect it

We use reputable platforms with industry-standard security, including encrypted (HTTPS) checkout, and we limit access to your information to the people who run the shop. No system is perfectly secure, so please contact us right away if you think something is wrong.

8. Children's privacy

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. Your choices and rights

No matter where you live in the US, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we have about you

  • Correct it

  • Delete it (except what we must keep for legal, tax, or order records)

  • Stop sending you marketing emails

Some states give residents additional privacy rights. We'll honor requests as required by applicable law. To make a request, email woodysgeekery@gmail.com or use our Contact form. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we'll respond within a reasonable time (generally within 45 days).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our shop grows. We'll post the new version here with an updated effective date. Significant changes may also be announced on the site or by email.
