Welcome to Part 10 of our Star Wars: Unlimited tutorial series! If you’re ready to take your competitive play to the next level, the Trilogy format offers a strategic twist on traditional one-deck matches. In Trilogy, players prepare three unique decks and battle through a best-of-three match—testing flexibility, deck diversity, and tactical decision-making.

🎮 What Is Trilogy Format?
Trilogy is a two-player constructed format where each player brings three separate decks to the table. Each deck has its own leader, base, and card pool, and players rotate through them in a best-of-three match.
This format rewards players who can build strong, varied decks and adapt to different matchups across multiple games.
🧪 Trilogy Deckbuilding Rules
Each of your three Trilogy decks must include:
1 Leader
1 Base
50+ Cards (units, events, upgrades)
Important Restrictions:
You may only include one copy of each leader and base across all three decks.
You may only include up to three copies of any unit, event, or upgrade across all three decks combined.
No sideboards are allowed.
Deckbuilding Tip: Choose leaders and bases that offer different playstyles—aggressive, control, combo—to cover a range of matchups.
🔁 How a Trilogy Match Works
Trilogy matches are played as a best-of-three series, with a unique structure:
1. Ban Phase
Each player reveals their three leader-base pairings.
Secretly choose one of your opponent’s decks to ban.
Reveal bans simultaneously—those decks are removed from the match.
2. Game 1
Secretly choose one of your remaining decks to play.
Reveal choices and play the first game.
3. Game 2 & 3
The winning deck from Game 1 is retired.
The losing player may choose to play the same deck or switch to their remaining deck.
The winner of Game 1 must play their remaining deck.
First player to win two games wins the match.
If a game ends in a draw, replay it with the same decks.
🧠 Strategy Tips for Trilogy Format
Diversify Your Decks: Build three distinct strategies to avoid overlap and cover different threats.
Ban Smart: Use the Ban Phase to eliminate your opponent’s strongest or most problematic deck.
Adapt Between Games: Learn from Game 1 and adjust your deck choice for Game 2.
Track Card Limits: Be mindful of the 3-copy rule across all decks—plan your card distribution carefully.
Practice Matchups: Know which of your decks performs best against different archetypes.
🎯 Why Play Trilogy?
High-Level Strategy: Tests your ability to build and pilot multiple decks.
Meta Awareness: Encourages understanding of matchups and counterplay.
Tournament Ready: Ideal for competitive events and advanced play.

The Trilogy format adds depth, variety, and tactical nuance to Star Wars: Unlimited. It’s perfect for players who love deckbuilding and want to showcase their versatility across multiple games.
